Former Autoworker Shifts Gears as Customer Service CyberAgent
"After toiling on the line for 29 years at General Motors plants in Indiana and Oklahoma, Mark Snyder is easing into a second career in an unlikely place: his home.
"The six-minute commute to the Oklahoma City GM plant (he lives three miles away) and clocking in for the night shift are all but gone. In their place, Snyder closes the door to his home office, dons a headset and logs on to a computer.
"In half-hour blocks, he'll answer customer-service calls for a national office-supply chain. As a 'CyberAgent' for Willow CSN, Snyder sets his own schedule, working on average about two hours a day.
"'I was looking for something to do when I retire so I'm not going to be sitting around watching soap operas,' Snyder said with a smile."
