Home Advantage: Telecommuting Offers Convenience for Injured Vets

"For some veterans, working at home creates more opportunities because driving isn't needed. For others, it means the convenience of not having to navigate ramps and find automated doors.

"For Sara Gill, it means working an hour at a time.

"Gill injured her leg in a training accident at Fort Rucker, Ala., while she was in the Army. That injury eventually led to back problems and kept her from working most jobs.

"'With my disability, I am not able to sit in an office for hours and I'm not able to stand for hours without a break,' said the Jupiter, Fla., resident, who is a contract agent for WillowCSN.

"...Providing job opportunities for people with disabilities was one of the reasons WillowCSN was formed. It began in 1997 as a pilot project between the state of Florida, Bell South and other companies."
